Meh

I spent my long weekend in Cape May hanging with my good friend Kelly & the rest of my CM family. It’s always great to get away even if only for a few short days. Not having to worry about what time is and just being able to relax. I made several new friends and got to hang with all of my favorite people there. Some of the more memorable moments included:

“Meh”

“Eat Glass”

Chug Hug 2011

“I puked a rainbow”

Harvcore Showcase/ Bottom Out covering Cold as Life

Cape May Orient

Meeting Ally, Raul, Chris, and a bunch of other rad people.

Salty Grave

I remember hearing that Life In Your Way were back together and was one of the happiest people on earth. They are one of my favorities and I thought after seeing them at Cstone back in 2008 that another amazing band had ended. Finding out that they were reuniting, recording new stuff, & had signed to Come & Live was some of the best news ever.

I had the chance to see them again on Saturday night here in Maryland. It may have been my favorite time seeing them. Josh started off by saying that it was a party. He then later commented that it had become a worship service. It was definitely a time of worship for me. The holy spirit had shown up and I could feel his prescence.

It was just what I needed. Josh commented how it was a honor for them to be there with us. You don’t here that too often these days from bands. It’s usually all about them. I lost my voice singing along with them to each of their songs. I’m just thankful for bands like them who truly stand for something and give all of themselves.

The End is Near

This past weekend was the 5th year of Unified Underground. It was an amazing time as always. God was moving the entire weekend through the speakers, bands, and time spent together with friends new and old. It always goes by so quickly and I wish I had more time to spend with friends that I don’t see too often. I”m hoping to make some road trips before next year so that I don’t have to wait so long.

Hip to the Hop

In high school my good friend Ryan and I were both really into rap at the time. Artists like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Notorious B.I.G., & Ice Cube were a few of my favorites. Over the last year or so I’ve really gotten into underground hip hop. Mostly christian artists that my friends Phil aka Wonder & Joel have suggested to me. I traveled up to Philly on Saturday for Light Hip Hope Fest. It was my first hip hop show and it was awesome.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I felt like I belonged right from the start. Each  of the MC’s killed it on stage. My favorites of the night were Cas Metah, Muzeone, & Wonder Brown. I have to say that I’m hooked and loving finding new hip hop artists.

Hugs and Handshakes

these are the best times of our lives
don’t ruin them with petty fights
so quick to throw a fist
it’s your own point that you’ve missed
let me make this clear
I don’t want your ego here
check them at the door
don’t look to settle the score
these are the best times of my life
you weren’t born with hardcore in your blood
remember who you were
remember who you are
remember who you were
remember who you are

It’s very hard to come back to work after having 8 days off. I had a great time on vacation. It was a much needed time of relaxation and time away from work. Some of the highlights include:

  • Six Flags Great Adventure - Kingda Ka & Superman
  • Walks on the boardwalk
  • Homemade bannana bread
  • Seeing a “Blood” moon for the first time
  • Cape May Zoo & Snow Leopards
  • Time with friends old & new.

3 Amazing shows in the fall have been announced over the past few days. I couldn’t be more stoked about each and every one of them.

October 29th - Blood for Blood, Bracewar, & Suburban Scum at the Ottobar

November 5th - Fall Brawl ft: Madball, Creepout, Mindset, Lifeless, Bitter End & others
